With remote learning and working for spring term, the University of Oregon has put in place temporary restrictions on building access. Anyone seeking instructional or noninstructional access to campus should follow the most current processes and procedures.
Before coming to campus for any reason, including the retrieval of materials from an office or workspace, employees are expected to submit their plans through the appropriate online form:
- Request form for instructors.
- Documentation form for researchers and research staff.
- Request form for administrative personnel.
Limiting access to buildings lets campus security officials monitor the safety and security of campus facilities and ensure an appropriate level of custodial service in the shared spaces that are accessed.
Building access is limited to those with proxy cards or keys, which is standard practice during winter and spring breaks. Many interior spaces, such as classrooms, will remain locked. They will be opened only by custodial staff or campus security once approved for use by the appropriate dean or vice president.
Those who need to enter a building they do not have card or key access to will need to contact the UO Police Department at 541-346- 2919, ext. 2, once their request is approved. UOPD will request their name and ID to keep track of individuals who are granted new or temporary access at this time.
People are allowed to walk through campus, but they should avoid congregating or playing group sports, per Gov. Kate Brown's stay-at-home order.
