Nominations are now open for the UO Excellence in Undergraduate Advising Awards, given annually to a faculty advisor and a professional advisor who have made a positive difference in the student experience.
Nominations are due Friday, March 17; nominees will be notified by email. To be considered, nominees must submit an application that includes an advising/mentoring philosophy statement and at least one letter of recommendation.
A committee comprised of faculty members, professional advisors and university administrators will review applications. Two awards will be given:
● Outstanding professional advisor: any professional whose job dictates that the majority of his or her responsibilities are in undergraduate advising.
● Outstanding faculty advisor: any appointed tenure-track, nontenure-track or pro tem faculty member who mentors or advises undergraduate students in addition to holding significant teaching and research responsibilities.
Each recipient gets a $2,000 award and will be recognized at an awards ceremony on June 1. The Division of Undergraduate Studies and the All-Campus Advising Association sponsor the annual UO Excellence in Undergraduate Advising Awards.
