Faculty members are encouraged to open their classes to visitors Friday, Nov. 2, when about 5,000 people will be on campus for the annual UO Fall Family Weekend.
Event organizers say sitting through actual classes gives parents and other family members a better understanding of their first-year students’ day-to-day experience at the UO, including the experience of going to class.
Those interested in opening up their classrooms to visiting families and alumni are asked to submit information by using an online form or by emailing the course name and number, instructor name, location and time to myduckis@uoregon.edu, by Wednesday, Oct. 31. Visitors will be asked not to participate or disrupt class unless the instructor encourages their involvement.
Fall Family Weekend is Nov. 2-4. Visitors will take part in activities across campus, including homecoming festivities and attending football and volleyball games.
