Supervisors of student employees interested in sharing their knowledge with other supervisors are encouraged to speak at the upcoming Student Employee Enhancement Summit.
The event steering committee is seeking proposals for 45-minute presentations connecting with the summit’s theme, “Student Employment as a High Impact Practice: Connecting Educational Purpose to Students’ On-Campus Work.”
Proposals should either cover at least one component of the student employment lifecycle — recruitment, hiring, onboarding, training performance management or frameworks for approaching student supervision — or connect on-the-job learning with classroom learning. Examples of topics include mentoring student employees, evaluating performance or using technology for teaching at work.
The summit is scheduled for 1 to 5 p.m. March 14 at the Erb Memorial Union.
Supervisors must submit proposals by Nov. 30 and can expect to hear back from the committee by Jan. 11.
