The Office of the Provost and Academic Affairs sent its quarterly academic policy memo to instructional faculty on Nov. 13.
The message from Scott Pratt, executive vice provost for academic affairs, provides information about changes to academic policies and reminders for faculty around “dead week” and final exams.
The memo highlighted policy changes to the “Y” grade and the major declaration policy. Both policies were approved by the UO Senate during the 2016–17 academic year and took effect at the beginning of fall term.
The message also provided information about the university’s discrimination policy and how it relates to religious holidays, observances and student requests for accommodation. The provost’s office provides reminders every quarter about academic policies and end-of-term reminders which can be found on the office website.
