Registration is open for spring term workshops that assist faculty members with career advancement and achievement.
The workshops, offered by the Office of the Provost and Academic Affairs, are intended for tenure-related faculty, nontenure-track faculty, unit heads and staff. The Office of the Vice President for Research and Innovation, the Office of the Vice President for Finance and Administration, and human resources helped develop a number of workshops specific to unit heads.

April 20 -Tenure Reduction Program
EMU 231/232, Cedar/Spruce rooms, noon–2 p.m.
This workshop is designed for tenure-related faculty interested in learning about the Tenure Reduction Program. The program allows tenured faculty to gradually reduce involvement at the UO for up to five years after retirement. The workshop will address eligibility, rights and responsibilities, interaction with the Public Employees Retirement System and other retirement funds, faculty standing in the department and university, types of instructional assignments, class enrollments, alternatives to teaching and constraints on employment and sustaining PERS eligibility.
April 20-De-mystifying the Grants Process for NTTF

This workshop will assist nontenure-track faculty understand the services and resources available through Research Development Services, a unit of the Office of the Vice President of Research and Innovation, as well as showcasing the experiences of NTTF faculty who are grant-active. Facilitated by Lynn Stearney and Vidusha Devasthal; panelists include Janne Underriner, linguistics; Mari Strand Carey, College of Education; and Scott Steward, Institute of Molecular Biology.
April 25–Promotion & Tenure: Promotion to Full Professor

This workshop describes how to prepare an effective and complete case for promotion to full professor, including the timing of case submissions; expectations for research, publication and creative accomplishments; expectations for teaching and service; and other critical topics.
May 17–Teaching and Professional Development for Career NTTF
EMU 023, Lewis Room, noon-2 p.m.
This workshop will feature a discussion about developing and maintaining a fulfilling and engaging career as NTTF instructional faculty at the UO. Join our distinguished panel of career NTTF instructors as they share what has fed their soul and helped them develop as professionals. Facilitated by Lee Rumbarger, Teaching Engagement Program; panelists include Sierra Dawson, human physiology; Mike Urbancic, economics; and others.
May 18-Unit Heads Training - Q&A with the Business Bunch

Bring your questions about budget, HR, audit, payroll, travel, internal controls, contracts and any other issues. Presenters will provide unit heads with answers and information about campus resources.
