Administrators, professionals and supervisors are bombarded with offers of amazing-but-expensive workshops in far away places, but with shrinking budgets and swelling workloads they can rarely pursue them.

The 2017 edition of the University of Oregon Strategic Leadership Forum, presented by the Officers of Administration Council and human resources, scratches that itch: top-quality, national-level content conveniently located on campus at no cost to UO officers of administration.

Registration is open, but space is limited.

A full day of sessions will be held April 25 in the Erb Memorial Union, starting in the Redwood Room, featuring 12 different topics. Among them: better project management, managing unprofessional or offensive people, navigating organizational change and leveraging help to improve leadership and supervision. Longtime UO supporter Dave Petrone will deliver the keynote address, “Consistent Leadership and Management in a Constantly Changing Environment.” Petrone is a 1966 UO alumnus with a successful career in banking who currently chairs the UO’s $2 billion capital campaign.

“With the success of the forum last year, we found we had amazing resources right here on campus,” OA Council Chair Leslie Wolgamott said. “OAs are normally so busy, this is a great chance for people to take a day to share with and learn from peers on things that really make a difference in their work and to improve higher ed.”
