Supervisors of students can now register for the second annual Student Employment Enhancement Summit, which is meant to help prepare them to mentor and support student employees effectively.
The SEE Summit is slated for 1 to 5 p.m. March 12 in the Erb Memorial Union Ballroom.
Trish Dorman, associate director of business operations for physical education and recreation, and the chair of the SEE committee, said the University of Oregon employs more than 3,400 undergraduate student employees.
“Supervisors of student employees are instrumental in creating a positive workplace experience and facilitating opportunities for student learning, growth and development into well educated, socially responsible and career ready graduates,” Dorman said. “The event draws student supervisors from across all divisions on campus, and provides ample opportunity for networking and connection.”
The theme of this year’s event is “From Menial to Meaningful: Building Self-Efficacy to Empower Student Employees.”
The summit is put on by supervisors of students and will include a range of breakout sessions. Topics of these sessions include helping supervisors to work with generation Z, advising racially-minoritized student employees, building a sense of belonging, creating opportunities for students to learn through employment and more.
Supervisors can register for these sessions through MyTrack. For more information and to view the full schedule, visit the Student Employment Enhancement webpage.
