The UO is rescheduling its planned virtual town hall meeting for faculty and staff members due to the fires burning east of Springfield and their effect on the community.

The town hall meeting is now set for 1 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 16. Additional information is available on the virtual town hall website, including links to the livestream and ways to submit questions before and during the event. The town hall will also be recorded for later viewing.

University leaders will offer information and answer questions about the UO’s plans for fall term classes. The meeting had originally been scheduled for Sept. 9.

The UO’s Safety and Risk Services continues to monitor the wildfire situation and the Office of Human Resources has provided guidance to employees and supervisors regarding the air quality. At this time, the university is maintaining regular operations with no change to work schedules nor closures.

Anyone in an area affected by fire, smoke, ash, wind or power outages is encouraged to be safe and follow the orders and guidance from Lane County or other public entities.
