UOPD offers classes in self-defense and use of pepper spray

The University of Oregon Police Department is holding a drop-in class to teach basic self-defense and the use of pepper spray.

Join Sergeant Davis Feb. 10 from 5:30 to 8 p.m. in the Erb Memorial Union Diamond Lake Room.

The self-defense section runs from 5:30 to 7 p.m. and the pepper spray instruction begins at 7 p.m. The class is open to UO students and employees with no preregistration.

The basic self-defense class incorporates risk awareness discussion with simple physical self-defense techniques. The pepper spray class focuses on when and how to deploy pepper spray and what type of pepper spray product works best.
