Information and updates about an ongoing classification and compensation study for UO officers of administration is now available online.
The project team has added a What’s New section to the project website to keep OAs current on developments and announcements. This is one of several steps being taken to inform and engage OAs as the project progresses.
The project website not only features answers to frequently asked questions about the study but also offers a place where new questions can be posted for review by the project team. The aim is to make the process as clear and transparent as possible, human resources program director Kaia Rogers said.
The What’s New section of the website includes a synopsis of the May 7 meeting with OAs and Vice President for Finance and Administration Jamie Moffitt. Rogers, who also spoke at the meeting, said it was well-attended and allowed for good discussion. She expressed appreciation for OA feedback and support for the project.
The OA classification and compensation project is an effort to establish an overall compensation philosophy, create a fair and sustainable pay system and develop a job framework. The project will not eliminate positions, reduce salaries or change titles of current employees.
A market analysis looking at pay and job descriptions among peer universities and the external market is continuing and is expected to be complete by the end of this year. One of the next steps in the project will be an opportunity for individual OAs to provide information regarding their specific tasks and responsibilities.
Mechanisms for collecting feedback are currently under review, and information on how the process will be conducted is expected in the near future.
Anyone who wishes to post a question to the What’s New website can do so at hr.uoregon.edu/oa/class-comp-project/faqs. The answers to some questions from the May 7 meeting that needed additional clarification also are posted on the site.
