Registration for the Fall Art Workshop at the University of Oregon’s EMU Craft Center will open at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 25, and will remain open until classes start or fill up.The Craft Center has well-equipped studios that are open seven days a week. Participants in the center's workshops are encouraged to tap into their artistic sides, meet new people and have fun. Craft center classes accommodate everyone from those just beginning to explore a craft to accomplished artists.
The Bike Commute Challenge sponsored by the Bicycle Transportation Alliance started Sept. 1 and will continue through the end of the month.The challenge is a competition that encourages participants to bike to work. Any employee can register individually, or with colleagues.

A regional partnership that includes the University of Oregon will help lead an education pilot initiated by the Oregon Education Investment Board. The partnership, called Connected Lane County, will receive $50,000 through the Oregon Solutions Network to help transform education in Oregon and achieve the 40-40-20 goals set by Senate Bill 253 in 2011.
