Chandler Henderson

Chandlor Henderson
Major: Journalism, minor in cartoons and comics studies
Hometown: Centreville, Virginia

"Being a nontraditional student made my experience unique. I had a lot of life experience when I got here, but I had to allow myself to be teachable and adapt to having classmates from a different generation. I learned a great deal about myself and the world we share through some challenging conversations and experiences. I had to learn how to let go of control so that I could grow as a person.”
Elizabeth Quintanilla

Elizabeth Quintanilla
Major: Double masters in nonprofit management and public administration
Hometown: Anaheim, California

"A lot of my community and positive impact stems from the work I have done for the Student Veteran Center and being an advocate for student veterans on and off campus (and) my work through the internship programs I have done through PPPM with advocating for the homeless youth and engaging in the Boys and Girls club ensuring that youth feel empowered to have bright futures."
Jonathan Dorogin

Jonathan Dorogin
Major: Bioengineering, doctorate
Hometown: Toronto, Ontario, Canada

"I would say that it was exciting to be part of the first cohort of the biomedical engineering graduate program. Being the first student in a new lab, participating in a new program, moving to a new country (during the pandemic), I grew a lot as a person."

Jonah Cabrera

Jonah Gómez Cabrera
Major: Double major in art and art history
Hometown: Portland, Oregon

"I have never been discouraged from pursuing difficult historical questions; the foundation of academic research is that there will always be subjects that have never been investigated. It becomes enlightening to be among the first to seek explanations or solutions, knowing that research will be fundamental for future scholars.”
Madeline Grenier

Madeline Grenier
Major: Music performance, French horn
Hometown: Valparaiso, Indiana

"The UO Horn Studio is the organization that had the most positive impact for me. It gave me a great community from the start of my degree where I was able to improve my musicianship in a fun environment! It’s also been helpful at improving my leadership skills because I’ve had the opportunity to plan and lead events like our weekly morning warm-ups."
Ryan Bosch

Ryan Bosch
Major: Business administration with a concentration in marketing
Hometown: Seattle, Washington

"After graduation, I’m moving back to Seattle to start a full-time role as a product development coordinator at Precept Wine & Spirits. I interned with the company last summer and even had the opportunity to support the Eugene Marathon two years in a row as part of my internship. I’m excited to take what I’ve learned at the University of Oregon into this next chapter and continue growing in the wine and beverage industry."
