New faculty and administrative officers at the University of Oregon are invited to get the lay of the land during an orientation Sept. 25-26. The Orientation for New Faculty and Officers of Administration provides a transition into the UO community for new tenure-track faculty, tenured faculty, non-tenure-track faculty and officers of administration.

Paintings honoring the late Alex Rovello, a UO student athlete, are among the offerings in “Art of the Athlete II,” continuing at the UO Jordan Schnitzer Museum of Art through Feb. 9.
University of Oregon law professor and president emeritus Dave Frohnmayer was named recently to the executive committee for The Lincoln Project, an initiative of the American Academy of Arts & Sciences.
The Science Program to Inspire Creativity and Excellence (SPICE) and UO STEM CORE will hold its 3rd annual Science Open House Sept. 25 from 6:30p.m. to 8:30 p.m.  It will take place on the University of Oregon campus, in Willamette Hall. The event has drawn more than 400 people in past years. It is designed to connect the Eugene community with science outreach programs on campus and in the community. The event is free and open to the public.
