UO anthropology professor Josh Snodgrass will go to the ends of the Earth to understand how people manage to survive in the harshest places, but he also goes the extra mile to help his students adapt to life at a university.
That latter quality is why Snodgrass was named one of the UO’s outstanding faculty advisors last year. And the fact that he earns such accolades despite a schedule packed with research and teaching is why he is the most recent faculty member to be featured in a series of profiles that support the university’s ongoing capital campaign.
The Profiles in Excellence series highlights faculty, students and programs that make a difference and illustrate the high level of inquiry and service that can be found across campus. Snodgrass is the ninth UO faculty member to be highlighted in the series.
With a goal of $2 billion, the campaign aims to ensure access for all qualified Oregon students, attract even more top faculty and provide the facilities and programs both need to meet the challenges of the 21st century. The public phase of the campaign is off to an auspicious start, raising a record-setting $214 million in the fiscal year that ended June 30.
