Renew the code in the Umo app to ride the bus for free

University of Oregon faculty members, staff and students are required to redeem a new code for their bus pass in the Umo app for the 2025-26 academic year to ride the Lane Transit District bus at no cost.

Those with an existing pass in the app can redeem the new benefit code beginning Aug. 1. Instructions are available on Transportation Services website.

The app can be downloaded for free in the Apple App Store or on Google Play.

The Umo app will not send a notification that the previous code has expired. Current pass codes will expire on Sept. 15.

Even for those who don’t regularly ride the bus, it’s a good idea to download the app and redeem the benefit code to have it when needed. Valid fare is required to board all buses including EmX.

The Umo app also lists all bus routes and schedules. Riders can sign up for text alerts from LTD.

For those unable to use the Umo app, a benefit code can be redeemed on a tap card, which can be obtained at the Transportation Services office or at ID Card Services office in the Erb Memorial Union. Active cardholders can redeem the benefit code with their current card.

LTD operates 24 park and ride lots located near bus stops where drivers can park for free.

Employees who find themselves in a situation where they need to get home quickly can make use of the Emergency Ride Home program.

LTD’s fall service changes take effect Sept. 7.
