You’ve been hearing about the campuswide electrical testing day for weeks and now it is here, Wednesday, Aug. 6. The Campus Planning and Facilities Management Utilities and Energy website is your best source of information for any last-minute preparation and day-of details.
Everyone on UO Alerts will receive a notification at 7:30 a.m. that testing will begin in 30 minutes. You’ll also receive a UO Alert around 3 p.m. notifying you that testing is complete.
Building shutdown schedule: Seven buildings will undergo testing and critical maintenance in addition to campuswide electrical tests.
Technology impacts: Learn about expected network impacts and how to protect sensitive electronic devices from power outages.
Restarting tech equipment: Find out when to turn sensitive electronic devices back on.
Elevators use during testing day: Avoid using elevators from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. since there is a slight chance one or more might stop working in the event of an outage. Technicians are on site to restart elevators.
Unaffected buildings: If you work in the listed buildings, you don’t need to change your workflow.
Reporting problems: How to report issues Aug. 6 or 7.
