Faculty members and graduate teaching fellows with questions about anything from Canvas to iClickers to Skyping in class can now get those questions answered — over coffee.
Education Technology and Canvas Support is hosting a campus coffee tour at different sites from October to December — four dates spread around campus, from the Jordan Schnitzer Museum of Art to Lawrence Hall. Instructors with questions about using technology to improve the classroom experience can bring them to any of the coffee sessions.
In addition, library subject specialists will be available to talk about research needs, finding course content material and instructional needs. Instructors don’t even have to be sure what tool they want to use, said Nina Fox, interim associate director at the UO Libraries’ Center for Media and Education Technologies.
“If you have challenges that you’re coming across and you need help brainstorming ideas,” Fox said, “…or if you’re new to the UO and you want to become more familiar with the resources available, come.”
