The University of Oregon COVID-19 testing program is offering additional voluntary testing for all UO employees and students who are not currently experiencing COVID-19 symptoms.

The test uses a self-collected, shallow nasal swab, not the more invasive deep nasal swab used in health care settings. Participants must have a UO ID number starting with 95 and bring their UO ID card to the testing event.

Around 2,000 dedicated testing appointments are available on a first-come, first-served basis next week on the following dates:

• Monday, Nov. 2, 8 a.m.-12:30 p.m.
• Tuesday, Nov. 3, 8 a.m.-12:30 p.m.
• Thursday, Nov. 5, 1:30 p.m.-4:30 p.m.
• Friday, Nov. 6, 8 a.m.-12:30 p.m. and 1:30-6 p.m.

All participants must pre-register. To preregister, visit the Monitoring and Assessment Program registration portal.

Sign-up closes at 5 p.m. the day before each session or when all slots are filled, whichever comes first. Additional testing opportunities will be made available in the coming weeks.

All participants must wear a mask.

Offered through the UO Monitoring and Assessment Program, testing is free. Minimal time is needed for the testing process itself. While there may be some wait time, lines are expected to move quickly and participants should only need 15-30 minutes to complete the process from arrival to departure.

It is important to note that if you believe you have been exposed to or are experiencing symptoms of COVID-19, you should seek medical help immediately. Symptomatic individuals should not go to a UO testing event.

Employees or students who have tested positive or think they have been exposed to COVID-19 are encouraged to review the COVID-19 exposure scenarios and guidance and contact the Corona Corps Care Team via a web form.

Other Important information:

• Testing takes place at Matthew Knight Arena. Enter at the southwest entrance behind the Ford Alumni Center.
• Employees may participate while on-shift during work time. However, employees who do not normally work during the time the testing is provided may also participate but will need to do so on their own time.

You should not participate if you:

• Were diagnosed positive for COVID-19 in the past 90 days.
• Are currently isolating or quarantining due to contact with a known positive case.
• Are feeling sick or experiencing COVID-19 symptoms. Instead, please contact your primary care provider for diagnostic testing.

Participants will be notified of their results by 9 p.m. within four days. Participants are asked to anticipate receiving test results by phone or email and to be responsive when contacted.
