A staggered set of signup dates will open Aug. 19 for University of Oregon employees who want renew or purchase parking permits for fall term.
Employees who drive to the Eugene campus can purchase a fall academic term parking permit online. Parking lots are divided into 10 zones by location, and permits are offered at three different price points.
Current summer permit holders can renew starting Aug. 19 at 10 a.m. During a "swap week" starting Aug. 26, permit holders who have not renewed their permit have the option to purchase a permit for any available parking zone. Sales to employees who currently do not hold a permit start Sept. 3.
Fall term permits become active Sept. 23. Payroll deduction and student billing will be available until Sept. 9 at 10 a.m.
Transportation Services encourages employees to consider free options of getting to campus if possible, including using Lane Transit District buses, walking or riding a bicycle. Bike registration is free and strongly encouraged. PeaceHealth Rides expanded their network to include bike share stations in Springfield. Employees may fill out a brief survey to provide feedback for the new transportation plan.
To remove barriers to not having a car on campus, the UO offers an emergency ride home program in the event of a qualifying emergency. Another option is Duck Rides, a free transportation service operating from 6 p.m. to midnight while classes are in session.
