The University of Oregon’s Career Center in Portland is hosting the fifth annual Get Connected event on Tuesday, Oct. 22 from 5 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. in the UO Portland's White Stag Building.
The event aims to bring UO alumni and employers together to facilitate discussion about the job market. UO graduates will have an opportunity to ask questions and listen to a panel of human resources professionals who are also Ducks, in addition to networking with UO alumni.
A few guest speakers, all graduates of the UO, will present a panel discussion, "Savvy Strategies for Millennials." Speakers include Julia Chan, Boly:Welch staffing consultant; Janelle Dobson, Teach For America recruitment manager; Sasha Olson, Yahoo! learning specialist; and Heather Swick, Waggener Edstrom associate talent acquisition partner.
Employers from the Portland area will also be at the Get Connected event to network and share information about available positions at their companies. There will be representatives from companies including CampusPoint, Enterprise Rent-A-Car, Peace Corps, Portland Trail Blazers, Banfield Pet Hospital and more.
Registration is free for current UO students and UO graduates from 2003-2013. Click here for more information about the event and a complete list of Portland employers who will be attending.
