Roads and lots to be closed or congested during move-in days

The University of Oregon Week of Welcome, also known as WOW, is four activity-filled days leading up to the start of classes on Monday, Sept. 30. Of special note for employees will be traffic and parking impacts during residence hall move-in.

Most students will move in on Thursday, Sept. 26, or Friday, Sept. 27, depending on their assigned arrival date and check-in time. About 4,700 students are anticipated to arrive over those two days, in addition to those who will have moved in earlier in the week.

Transportation Services encourages drivers to avoid streets and parking lots around the residence halls starting Sept. 23 and consider remote work and/or bus, bike and other travel means.

Lots 29A, 29D, 33, 34E, 36A, 37, 49 and 50 will be reserved for residents moving into the halls.

On Sept. 26 and 27, Agate Street from Franklin Boulevard to East 18th Avenue will be closed.

Traffic will be restricted on 13th, 15th and 17th avenues and only accessible to UO affiliates and residents moving in.

To ease congestion, families who arrive early will be pointed to an auxiliary parking lot until their assigned time. After residents unload their belongings and receive their room keys, drivers will be directed to park at Autzen Stadium. Shuttles will transport family members back to campus so they can help students get settled
