The University of Oregon spring break runs March 22-30. With the break in the academic schedule comes changes to university campuses.
Many university buildings on the Eugene campus will be locked from March 21 at regular closing time until the morning of March 31 as part of the Safety and Risk Services holiday and academic break door lock procedure. Employees may access locked buildings with keys and prox cards or contact their supervisor to request access.
Campus Planning and Facilities Management has information on closures and major projects on the department’s construction and impacts map.
Parking may be easier to find, but all campus lots will be patrolled as usual. The Transportation Services office is open for walk-in customers, and service remains available via email and phone. Spring term parking permits are on sale now and become active March 24. Duck Rides operates only when classes are in session and will be closed from March 21-30. Ride-hailing services will continue as usual, though some LTD buses serving campus may run on limited schedules.
The Erb Memorial Union will operate with scaled-back hours and be closed March 22-23 and March 29. It will be open from 8 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., Monday through Friday, and will reopen for spring term at noon on March 30.
Campus Mail Services will operate regular hours with reduced staffing. If there are questions or accommodation requests please contact them by email, uomailing@uoregon.edu, or phone at 541-346-3130.
For those working on publication jobs over the spring break, Print Services at the Baker Center will be open regular hours.
On-campus dining options will be reduced. Peruse the Food on Campus map to find locations. Most campus cafés will be closed. All residence hall dining venues will be closed March 22, reopening March 29.
University Health Services will be closed for patient care March 24-30. Phones will be on to make appointments or ask questions at 541-346-2770. Counseling Services after-hours support and crisis line is always available at 541-346-3227. All departments will reopen March 31 for spring term.
Check out spring break reading before the Knight Library reduces its hours. It will close on Friday, March 21, at 5 p.m., and — like bookends — it’ll be closed on the weekends at each end of spring break (March 22-23 and March 29-30). Regular operating hours resume March 31. Other UO Libraries locations will follow a similar schedule with some extended closures. Visit the UO Libraries website for specific branch hours during spring break.
Plan workouts around the Student Recreation Center modified hours. The rec center will be closed March 22-23 and 29-30. Memberships can be purchased for spring term.
The Museum of Natural and Cultural History is open during spring break with a membership discount offered March 22-30. The museum’s exhibit “Capturing the Cosmos—Images from the James Webb Space Telescope” celebrates its final week during spring break, closing Friday, March 28. Also on view is the museum’s latest exhibit, “Roots and Resilience—Chinese American Heritage in Oregon.”
The Jordan Schnitzer Museum of Art will also be open regular hours. Two art exhibitions will be closing in April.
The EMU computer lab in Room 042 will have modified hours during the break, in alignment with EMU building hours. The computer lab will be closed March 22-23 and March 29. From March 24-28, it will be open 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. On March 30, it will be open noon to 8:30 p.m. Regular hours resume March 31.
