University of Oregon staff members are encouraged to apply for a study abroad site visit grant at select locations through Global Education Oregon.
Up to two UO Staff Study Abroad Grants will be awarded in 2025.
UO staff from all departments and classifications are encouraged to apply. In addition to officers of administration and classified employees, non-tenure track faculty who have a full-time equivalent of 0.5 or greater assigned to advising students and/or administration also are eligible.
Grant recipients will visit one of the GEO Centers in London, England; Segovia, Spain; Oviedo, Spain; or Siena, Italy. Applicants may also take part in a faculty-led program with approval from participating faculty.
The nature of participation will vary depending on the grant recipient’s background, experience and interests; the type and duration of the study abroad program; the expectations of the faculty leader; and program expectations and goals.
The grant covers the cost of travel, lodging, some meals and related fees, such as travel and health insurance. Individual grant amounts will be based on the location, as determined by the selection committee, but will not include salary or per diem compensation.
Applications are due by May 15. Applicants will apply through an online form, describing how they will promote GEO study abroad in their current work, and how they will use their experiences and skills abroad. For more details and to apply, visit the program website. Questions may be directed to Will Johnson.
