The plan will allow honors students to earn both degrees in six years instead of the usual seven.

Federal appeals judges Diarmuid O’Scannlain, Alfred Goodwin and Edward Leavy will hear three cases beginning at 9:30 a.m. in the Duncan Campbell Auditorium.

Panelists will talk about ideas for reversing the trend toward crowded classrooms, fewer teachers and reduced opportunities in Oregon public schools.

U.S. Sen. Ron Wyden will receive the 14th annual Frohnmayer Award for Public Service at a reception following the symposium. Both events are in Portland.

This year marks the 10th anniversary of the Oregon Child Advocacy Project, a program started with a gift from Portland philanthropist and UO alum Duncan Campbell.
