Vox Resonat, an ensemble of vocal soloists specializing in music of the Baroque, Renaissance and Middle Ages, will present its first concert of the season at 8 p.m. Friday, Jan. 25, at Central Lutheran Church, near the UO Campus. The church is at 18th Avenue and Potter Street.

The ensemble will perform music from the early middle ages to the high Renaissance, covering about 600 years. The program, titled "The Lost Saints of Winter,” features pieces composed for festivities associated with December and January holidays, some of which are largely forgotten today.

Approximately 75 people gathered today in the EMU Fir Room to express their feelings regarding the restructuring of the UO Office of Equity and Inclusion (OEI). The final of four town hall meetings designed to collect feedback on a new strategic action plan for the office, this meeting was scheduled specifically to provide the opportunity for attendees to voice their concerns over the changes that have taken place in the office.

His Holiness the 14^th Dalai Lama of Tibet will deliver a lecture at the University of Oregon’s Matthew Knight Arena on Friday, May 10. The 1:30 p.m. lecture, "The Path to Peace and Happiness in the Global Society," is open to UO students, faculty and staff as well as members of the public.

He was a dedicated researcher before he'd finished his undergraduate studies at the University of Minnesota-Duluth. At 22, he was the senior graduate student in a human physiology laboratory at the University of Oregon. By 23, he had co-authored 10 peer-reviewed scientific journal articles and a book chapter on sex differences in the developmental programming of adult disease.

UO Vice President for Equity and Inclusion Yvette Alex-Assensoh held the second of three town hall meetings on Thursday to receive input from students, faculty, staff and the greater community on issues relating to a new strategic action plan for the Office of Equity and Inclusion.

The third meeting will be from 8 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. Friday in Room 184 of the Knight Law Center.

A law that went into effect Jan. 1 requires University of Oregon employees to report incidents of child abuse and prohibited discrimination, including sexual harassment and sexual assault, Provost James Bean said, in a recent message to the campus community.

“The duty to report child abuse is new,” Bean said. “The duty to report prohibited discrimination is ongoing.”

The future is unknowable, but Information Services and UO Libraries will be ready for it.

The University of Oregon departments have launched a collaborative “Listening Tour” to better understand what faculty, researchers, administrators, staff, GTFs and students across campus have to say about goals, pending initiatives and projects relating to technology.
