Youth Behavioral and Mental Health
Transforming Youth Mental Health
From teen mental health research to the first bachelor’s degree in child behavioral health in the nation, we are committed to improving well-being in today’s youth.
The University of Oregon is dedicated to supporting youth well-being through early detection, prevention, and behavioral health interventions. Youth mental health challenges have surged over the past decade, resulting in a national crisis in child and teen mental health.
The UO's evidence-based interventions are used in over 25,000 schools and every US state. In 2022, the Ballmer Institute for Children’s Behavioral Health introduced the first undergraduate degree in child behavioral health to expand the workforce of youth mental health specialists. Decades of nationally recognized research from the College of Education and Prevention Science Institute deliver proven strategies to address the child and adolescent mental health crisis.
