Hamilton and Walton Transformation Project

Great Lawn

The new green space just north of Unthank Hall will open to the campus community in mid-September. It may look complete, but the grass needs time to establish before it can withstand any foot traffic. The Great Lawn is ringed by a paved walking path with benches, log seating and bicycle parking. A black oak tree planting ceremony took place in advance of the installation of the plank house sculpture in early fall.

The Oregon beach volleyball courts will be completed in September. Some of the sand came from the dunes in Florence.

Friendly Hall Deferred Maintenance and Renovation Project

Friendly Hall, the third oldest structure on the Eugene campus, is undergoing a full renovation. The area is surrounded by a fence and the sidewalk in front on East 13th Avenue will be closed through fall term 2027. The building will house the Schnitzer School of Global Studies and Languages programs.

Earl Hall Window Replacement Project

Willamette Hall Roof Replacement

The East 13th Avenue sidewalk is closed in front of Willamette Hall during the replacement of a portion of the roof as well as repair of downspouts. The ramp between Willamette Hall and Volcanology will close to motorized vehicles Aug. 31 to Sept. 30 for storm drain repair. The fence will come down by Sept. 25.

Knight Library Plaza Restoration
