Describe the work you do and how long you have been at UO.

Basically custodial, lead and maintenance work, but from 4 or 5 years ago, I'm an interpreter for Spanish speakers. I been in the university for over 10 years.

Tell us about a time in your job that you felt you made a difference.

The time I felt a made a difference was the first time they asked me to do interpretation work. My success story begins when CPFM management allow me to do other things different then just custodian work. When they allowed me to be in trainings helping me to success. 

How do you help students or coworkers create a sense of belonging?

In the moment they are available to fully understand what is happening around the work place. When the language barriers disappear. 

What is a favorite spot on your campus (for coffee or to relax)?

The coffee store in Jaqua or Knight Campus. 

What are you reading/watching/listening to these days?

Reading: “El Coronel no Tiene Quien le Escriba” (García Márquez). Watching: “How to Become a Tyrant” and “The History of God” (Norman Freeman). Listening: Mostly comedy (“Erazno y la Chocolate”), mystery (“Aqui se Respira el Miedo”) and inspirational (César Lozano) podcast.
