Have a child who is a sports fanatic? Or one just learning about sports? Young Ducks fans are invited to sign up for National Girls and Women in Sports Day, Sunday, Feb. 8, taking place before the University of Oregon women’s basketball team plays the Ohio State University Buckeyes at Matthew Knight Arena.
The free one-hour camp will spotlight all the UO’s women’s sports (acrobatics and tumbling, basketball, beach volleyball, cross country, golf, lacrosse, soccer, softball, tennis, track and field, and volleyball). Coaches and student-athletes will lead fun, age-appropriate mini-clinics and skill activities. Each attendee may receive a Women in Flight poster and takeaway gift.
The event starts at 10:30 a.m. and is open to children in sixth grade and under. Participants must purchase a ticket to the Feb. 8 women’s basketball game to attend the camp.
A registration form, waiver and more details are available at GoDucks.com/NGWSD.
