Information Services will activate URL link protection on Aug. 15 for all UO students and employees.
Starting that day, when you click a link in email, the URL link protection service will check to see if the requested website is malicious. If so, you will see a notice. If the link is deemed safe, you will go to the website as usual.
More information about URL link protection is available in the UO Service Portal.
Phishing messages are a common information security risk, and URL link protection will reduce that risk. This feature is part of the UO Information Security Office's initiative to improve email security.
Anyone with questions can contact the Technology Service Desk by phone at 541-346-4357, in person in Prince Lucien Campbell Hall, Room 68, or through the UO Service Portal.
