More than 100 faculty members receive tenure or promotion

The UO promoted or granted tenure to more than 120 faculty members during the 2015-16 academic year, and newly advanced faculty members were honored by the Office of the Provost and Academic Affairs and President Michael Schill at a reception June 7.

“We are incredibly proud of our faculty and are excited to celebrate these career advancements,” Provost Scott Coltrane said. “As a leading research university, we strive to recruit, retain and reward the best and most productive professionals for all our faculty positions.”

This year 60 tenure-track faculty members earned promotions, were promoted with tenure or earned tenure. In addition, another 67 non-tenure-track faculty members earned promotions.

”The promotion and tenure processes for both tenure-track faculty and non-tenure-track faculty are carried out with rigor, care and dedication that starts in departments and moves through multiple levels of review," Coltrane said. ”The attention and efforts that our faculty put into scholarship, research, teaching, and service are of the highest caliber.”

The 2015-16 faculty promotion lists are available on the Academic Affairs website.
