Start planning now for benefits open enrollment in October

It’s not too early to start thinking about medical insurance and other benefits for 2027. Open enrollment, the mandatory process through which PEBB-eligible employees select their benefit plans for the next calendar year, will take place Oct. 1-31 at pebbenroll.com.

Pay extra attention to open enrollment this year

About three-quarters of benefits-eligible University of Oregon employees are Providence Health Plan members, and Providence will no longer offer health insurance beginning in 2027. Most faculty and staff will need to select a new medical plan during open enrollment, and all PEBB-eligible faculty and staff need to take action during open enrollment.

Do I need to complete open enrollment?

If you’re a benefits-eligible UO faculty member, classified staff member or officer of administration, you need to complete open enrollment this October. This includes:

  • 2026 Providence Health Plan members.
  • 2026 Moda or Kaiser Permanente members.
  • New academic year employees, who also enroll separately in 2026 benefits.
  • Any new employees who started in 2026, who also enrolled separately in 2026 benefits.

Where can I find information about my 2027 insurance options?

Here are some places to start. More information will be added to these pages in the coming weeks.

A little preparation now can help open enrollment go more smoothly in October. Review your options early, watch for additional information and resources, and be prepared to make your 2027 benefit selections during open enrollment.
