A two-hour session at the UO on Monday, Feb. 24, will offer members of the campus community an overview on responses to potentially violent situations – beforehand and in the moment.
The training will be hosted by the UO's Counseling and Testing Center, Emergency Management & Continuity and the University of Oregon Police Department.
It will include a discussion of potential warning signs for violent behavior, a video that illustrates options for those who encounter violence on campus and information about UOPD's response capabilities. There will also be an overview of campus-wide preparedness activities and steps that departments or individuals can take to be better prepared.
The session will be from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. on Monday, Feb. 24, at the Ford Alumni Center Ballroom. Register by emailing Krista Dillon at kristam@uoregon.edu.
