The Duck Nest Wellness Center is continuing to offer virtual workshops for staff, faculty and graduate employees through the Wellness Ambassador Program.
Kate Stoysich, health promotion specialist, said volunteer wellness ambassadors will lead the presentations for faculty and staff members.
“The presentations will educate participants about important concepts that impact us in our work on a daily basis and learn skills of how to deal with issues that arise,” Stoysich said. “They may be especially useful in consideration to the difficult and unpredictable times that we’ve seen in the past year.”
The first presentation, called “Declare Your Wellness,” will take place from noon to 1:30 p.m., Jan. 12. The workshop will cover personal health and well-being. Next will be “Building Healthy Relationships in the Workplace” from 1 to 2:30 p.m., Feb. 3. It will teach participants how to develop healthy, positive workplaces.
The last presentation, “Change and Ambiguity in the Workplace,” will be from 10 to 11:30 a.m. on Feb. 25. It will address types of change that happen in a workplace and how to use healthy communication techniques to deal with those changes.
More details and registration can be found on the HR website.
In January the Wellness Ambassador Program will begin distributing regular wellness newsletters focused on resources related to the eight dimensions of wellness (physical, emotional, social, intellectual, spiritual, financial, environmental and occupational). Faculty, staff and graduate employees can subscribe to the newsletter through the UO Mailing Lists system.
