Dane Christensen is an academic expert on corporate “naughtiness and goodness” and the political economy. His research on corporate “naughtiness and goodness” explores the determinants and consequences of financial misreporting, as well as how corporate social responsibility disclosures influence managerial decision making and financial markets. His research on the political economy explores how political information flows to markets, the role of political connections in business, and how executives’ political orientation influences how they run their firms. His research has been published in numerous top research journals, including The Accounting Review, Contemporary Accounting Research, Journal of Accounting Research, Management Science, Review of Accounting Studies and Strategic Management Journal. His research has also been featured in media outlets such as the Wall Street Journal, the Financial Times, Fortune.com, NPR, and CFO.com, and has been noted by the Securities and Exchange Commission in their policy making process.
