Biography:

Juan-Carlos Molleda is a public relations management expert whose research focuses on global corporate public relations management. Molleda is the co-author of the textbook Global and Multicultural Public Relations (2019) as well as co-author and co-director of three research reports of the Latin American Communication Monitor (2021, 2017, 2015). He has authored more than 44 refereed publications, 29 book chapters, and 57 conference research papers. He has more than 25 years of experience teaching and researching public relations and communication management, serving most recently as the public relations department chair in the University of Florida College of Journalism and Communications. In addition to his outreach to the professional community, Molleda is a member of the Board of Trustees of the Institute for Public Relations and a founding member of its Commission on Global Public Relations Research, the Latin American liaison of the Public Relations Society of America’s Certification in Education for Public Relations, and a member of The LAGRANT Foundation Board of Directors, Plank Center for Leadership in Public Relations’ Board of Advisors, and University of Sharjah (UAE) College of Communication’s Advisory Board. Between 2007 and 2013, he also held leadership positions (secretary, vice chair, and chair) with the Public Relations Division of the International Communication Association. In 2022, Molleda received the 2022 Institute for Public Relations Pathfinder Award for his significant and sustained contributions to the field of public relations through research, education, and leadership.
