Biography:

Laura Bakkensen is an academic expert in environmental and natural resource economics, with a focus on climate risks, natural disasters and adaptation policy. Her research uses applied microeconomics and econometric analysis to examine how weather events and disasters affect communities, housing markets and economies across the globe. She studies topics including insurance regulation, disaster preparedness, post-disaster aid and public adaptation strategies designed to reduce damages and loss of life.
