Oregon Ducks in the Playoffs

Rose Bowl Bound

Oregon is riding an undefeated season into the Jan. 1 Rose Bowl, setting up a week of events that will bring Ducks together around the game, giving back to the Los Angeles community, alumni activities, and more.

The University of Oregon’s ninth appearance in the Rose Bowl promises to be as exhilarating for Ducks everywhere as it will be for the student-athletes on the field. UO fans, alumni, students, faculty, and admissions experts will take part in various Rose Bowl activities that spotlight what makes UO a leading research university and what it means to be a Duck.

The UO’s strong connection to Southern California makes the Rose Bowl a special opportunity for alumni, faculty, staff and students alike to connect at admissions events, service projects and pregame celebrations. The University of Oregon’s latest trip to Rose Bowl promises to be something special — and you’ll find everything about it right here.

We Make You Go

The University of Oregon is as bold and innovative in academics and research as it is in athletics. We’re combining our passion, drive and entrepreneurial spirit to unlock human potential and improve society.

After winning the Big Ten Championship Game and securing the first 13-0 start in program history, the Oregon football team has earned the No. 1 overall seed in the College Football Playoff and a berth in the Rose Bowl Game presented by Prudential. The undefeated Ducks clinched one of four first-round byes in the inaugural 12-team CFP field with their 45-37 win over Penn State in the Big Ten title game. Ohio State's victory over Tennessee on Dec. 21 sets up a Ducks-Buckeyes matchup in the Rose Bowl on New Year’s Day in Pasadena. It will be Oregon’s second appearance in the College Football Playoff. The Ducks were part of the inaugural four-team field in 2014 and defeated Florida State in the Rose Bowl to advance to the first-ever CFP National Championship Game.

The popularity and prestige of the Rose Bowl give the university an unparalleled opportunity to showcase its strengths as Oregon’s public flagship and one of America’s leading research universities. With the Rose Bowl straight ahead and the UO moving toward an even brighter future, there truly couldn’t be a better time to be a Duck.
