UO offers suicide prevention training for faculty and staff

The University of Oregon Suicide Prevention Team and the University Counseling and Testing Center are hosting two suicide prevention trainings for faculty and staff to teach suicide-warning signs and how to steer at-risk students toward professional help.

The trainings run from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. Nov. 21 and from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. Dec. 9. Registration is available through Suzie Stadelman.

Let it RAIN: O-Corps workshops to begin in January

The inaugural O-Corps workshop of the Regional Accelerator and Innovation Network (RAIN) will begin in January 2014 with a series of weekly sessions designed to guide researchers through the process of innovation development.

This winter’s program is intended for graduate students and post-doc researchers working in human physiology who are interested in learning more about how research can be moved from the laboratory and into public or commercial use.

UO Music and Dance wrap through Dec. 9

The Dancing People Company will visit the University of Oregon School of Music and Dance for a public concert on Nov. 22; the Voxare String Quartet will visit Beall Concert Hall Dec. 1; and the holiday season will feature a Dec. 6 choral concert, a Dec. 8 gospel concert and a Dec. 9 brass benefit concert.
