The investiture of University of Oregon President Michael Gottfredson may still be nearly six weeks away, but some deadlines are fast approaching for those wishing to attend and/or participate in the May 30 event.
RSVPs should be made by May 10 for those who plan on attending the 2 p.m. event at Matthew Knight Arena and a reception that will follow at the Ford Alumni Center. The entire community is invited.

Eric Priest, a professor in the University of Oregon School of Law, will find himself in a sea of music label executives and celebrities when he attends the nation’s leading conference for songwriters and composers as a panel participant April 18 through 20.
The fourth annual University of Oregon Cinema Pacific Film Festival ventures into new territory this year, with a first-time focus on Latin America and events that extend to Portland.
The festival, which runs April 17 through April 21, will also cast its spotlight on the Pacific Northwest and on Asian Pacific countries, as it has in past years. Singapore and China will be highlighted.
The University of Oregon Department of Dance will present its annual “at home” concert of the touring UO Repertory Dance Company on April 19 and 20, featuring culminating works of the academic year.
Performances are scheduled for 8 p.m. both evenings in the Dougherty Dance Theatre on the third floor of the Gerlinger Annex on the Eugene campus.
