Each year, KWAX Classical Oregon, the University of Oregon’s all-classical public radio station, puts together a three-day program of music guaranteed to put anyone in the holiday spirit.
Programming kicks off the Saturday before Christmas Day and features favorites such as “Handel’s Messiah” and the annual St. Olaf Christmas concert. Many of KWAX’s regular programs will have a Christmas theme.
Saturday, Dec. 23
- 6 p.m. – Canadian Brass Christmas Time is Here
- 7 p.m. – Winter Holiday with Bill McGlaughlan
- 8 p.m. – Carols and Cheer
- 9 p.m. – Carols at Home with Imani Winds
Sunday, Dec. 24
- 8 p.m. – Handel’s Messiah with the Pittsburgh Symphony
Monday, Dec. 25
- 8 a.m. – A Rochester Festival of Lessons and Carols
- 9 a.m. – St. Olaf Christmas Festival
- 11 a.m. – Welcome Christmas
- Noon – Ballad of the Brown King
- 1 p.m. – Your Christmas Favorites
- 3 p.m. – All is Bright
- 4 p.m. – A Chanticleer Christmas
KWAX 91.1 FM programming can be heard around Western and Central Oregon via transmitters and can also be streamed online at www.kwax.com as well as on TuneIn and Internet Radio.
