University of Oregon employees traveling for work now have a more convenient way to report their expenses. They can use the new Concur Mobile App on their phones from anywhere with internet access, whether they’re at a conference, a hotel or out on the road.
The app will allow UO travelers to request pre-travel approval, take photos of receipts, file expense reports for reimbursement and review upcoming itinerary information. They can also approve requests and expense reports remotely and sign using electronic signatures. Laurie Jacoby, travel manager for UO’s business affairs office, said this is something travelers have been requesting for years.
“Travelers can practically submit expense reports while they’re at the airport and waiting for their flights rather than waiting until they get home to go through paperwork,” Jacoby said. “These advances allow for remote approvals and for travelers to be reimbursed promptly for out-of-pocket travel expenses.”
The ExpenseIt feature of the Concur Mobile App uses optical character recognition to read receipts, convert foreign currency and categorize expenses.
