Practice, compete, triumph. The same drive that leads athletes to victory extends beyond the basketball court and into the concert hall. Just ask the women of Divisi, the UO’s all-female a cappella group.

That desire to win, to be the best and to pave the way for all-female groups landed them on ESPNW, a website aimed at women who love sports. The article follows Divisi as the group competed in the finals of their first International Competition of Collegiate A Cappella.

They went there to win but also to make a statement.

"I also just want us to get our message out there that female a cappella is amazing," group member Jordyn Brown said.

Divisi didn’t win, nor did they place. However, as one group members told ESPN, they did empower others.

"If it wasn't for Divisi, I wouldn't be nearly the independent woman I am," said Kelsey Pargeter, a junior at the UO.
