Oregon track and field student-athletes Edward Cheserek and Jenna Prandini have been named to the Capital One Academic All-America Second Team.
Cheserek, a sophomore, currently holds a 3.34 GPA while pursuing a degree in pre-business administration. He is a nine-time NCAA champion in track and field and cross country, the most in school history.
Cheserek closed the 2015 season with two national championships at the NCAA Outdoor Championships, making five total for the 2014-15 season after winning the cross-country national title and two NCAA indoor titles.
Cheserek is the 24th Oregon man to make an Academic All-America team.
Prandini holds a 3.55 GPA while pursuing a degree in general social sciences. The redshirt junior is a 14-time Academic All-American and has won three national championships with the most recent coming in the 100 meters at the 2015 NCAA Outdoor Championships. Prandini scored in three events at the meet, with runner-up finishes in the long jump and 200 meters.
She is the 27th Oregon woman to be named to a track and field Academic All-America team and continues a stretch of eight consecutive years with a Duck being honored.
