Global Education Oregon is accepting applications from faculty members interested in leading a credit-bearing study abroad program during the 2021 summer or fall term.
The application deadline is March 1. Whether it’s teaching at an overseas center or developing a comprehensive travel program in a location closely aligned with a research interest, Global Education Oregon works with faculty members to provide opportunities for students to go abroad.
For details and a proposal form, visit the unit’s website. Notification of approved programs will take place by April 15.
The office also offers a limited number of faculty development grants to support exploration of a faculty-led program site. Applications are also due March 1. Visit the website to see the application and its requirements.
“Working with GEO has given me the extraordinary opportunity of traveling around Europe and South America with some of the best students at the University of Oregon,” said professor Peter Laufer, the James N. Wallace Chair of Journalism, who has led programs since 2014. “Studying journalism across cultures and languages with them has invigorated my conviction that learning abroad helps teach perhaps the most important lesson of all: We are all one.”
