The Governor’s State Employee Food Drive kicked off with a rumble Feb. 3 as barrels rolled to dozens of locations across campus.

In addition to the traditional collection of nonperishable food items, departments across campus have planned fundraising activities to boost participation and reach the goal of donating 125,000 pounds of food.

The Department of Biology will hold a bake sale each Monday during the month of February. Visit Room 77, Klamath Hall between 8:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. every Monday in February — except the noon lunch hour — to donate cash for home-baked goods.

Theater arts will hold a Pet Extravaganza on Feb. 18 from 1 to 3 p.m. in the Miller Theatre Complex lobby. Visitors can meet the theater arts office dogs and their friends and purchase items from a bake sale.

University Advancement and the UO Foundation are hosting The second-annual Great Fordish Bake Off on Feb. 19 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. in Room 403, Ford Alumni Center. The two divisions will compete to see who in the alumni center will take home the honorary title of best baker.

Johnson Hall and University Communications are partnering to host a cookbook exchange Feb. 19 from noon to 4 p.m. in the garden level conference room, Room 8 in Johnson Hall. Bring your unwanted cookbooks and for a small cash donation take home a new-to-you cookbook.
