The University of Oregon will observe several holidays over the next two months. Veterans Day, which was added to the UO holiday observance schedule this year, occurs this week on Thursday, Nov. 11. UO will be closed on Nov. 25-26 for Thanksgiving. In December, the university will be closed for two additional days off on Dec. 22-23 as announced by President Schill to coincide with other holidays observed in December. Christmas is observed on Friday, Dec. 24, and New Year’s Day on Friday, Dec. 31.
Paid holidays vary for employee groups, based on collective bargaining agreements and policy. Visit the Human Resources website for information by employee group.
The university provides a special day of leave for all employees. For officers of administration and faculty with 12-month appointments, the special day of leave is historically referred to as the “governor’s special day of leave.”
More information about university holidays, including a comprehensive list of paid holidays throughout the year, is available on the Human Resources website.
