Earlier this week the University of Oregon announced private giving to the university topped $100 million in donations for the seventh straight year. On Thursday, July 31, KVAL-TV highlighted the UO’s fundraising efforts during the 5 p.m. newscast.
In the video package, KVAL-TV spoke with Vice President of Advancement Michael Andreasen, who noted the range of donation amounts, that more than 75 percent of donors made gifts to academic endeavors and more than 20 percent were first-time donors.
Andreasen also stressed that the university must be good stewards of the financial support and show results of how the money is being used – to support students, for scholarships, for research and for infrastructure.
