Office of Equity and Inclusion begins expert-in-residence program

The University of Oregon's Office of Equity and Inclusion launched its expert-in-residence program today with a two-day visit (through Friday) by Liz Halimah, a UO alum and chief of staff in the equity and inclusion office at the University of California at Berkeley.

During her UO visit, Halimah will present findings from a study on multicultural student organizations and provide information about benchmarking for diversity and equity. She will also offer initial consultation about integrating processes for inclusion and equity into the work of advancement, university governance, staff development and faculty affairs.

Halimah, who has more than 20 years of experience in higher education policy and management, is the chief strategist for at UC Berkeley's division of equity and inclusion.

The expert-in-residence program in the UO's Office of Equity and Inclusion is intended to bring two or three experts per term to campus.
